Some significant projects of ours ...

Janaza Hall and Ladies’ Prayer area - Galle

The Janaza Hall and Ladies’ Prayer area at the Muhiyiddeen Jummah Masjid, Talapitiya, Galle,
This complex, situated in the Masjid built in 754 AD, addresses the dire need for the people of Galle Town and Karapitiya to have a convenient place for their obligatory janaza rituals. Additionally, it provides a separate ladies' prayer area for travelers.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors and their families for their generous support and pray for Allah’s mercy upon everyone.

The Ladies' Prayer Hall - Kirinda

The ladies' prayer hall at the kirinda jumma mosque was opened on the 7th of November, 2022.

The Charities Network has successfully completed this much needed facility for the community in Kirinda and for all the travellers coming to Yala, Thissamaharama and Kataragama. In addition to Prayer Hall, Wudu and Toilet facilities are also been built. Thank you to our donors for being a part of this amazing, meritorious project!

Janaza Washing Hall - Kirinda

We are proud to announce the successful construction and handover of a state-of-the-art Janaza washing and prayer hall, which serves as an important facility for the Muslim community of Kirinda. This significant building project, was completed at a total cost of 6.5 million Rupees. It is designed to provide a respectful and serene environment for the community to perform rituals and prayers during times of mourning, reflecting our commitment to supporting the spiritual and cultural needs of the residents.

Tube Wells and Drinking Water Projects

Water to quench your thirst, cooking, washing & cleaning and most importantly to take Wuzu was taken care of. Tube wells were gifted to residences in several parts of the country and Mosques benefiting so many families.

Gifting water is the best Sadaqatul Jaaariya, one could do for himself and on behalf of a deceased, loved one.

Education and Employment Support

In the academic area, Laptops for undergraduates and advanced level students were given to assist them in their studies.

In the field of medicine, an urgent support by way of optical laser treatment, cornea graft for a girl of 13 years was completed, as well as a part sponsorship of Rs.2.6 million for a kidney transplant.

At present, we continue to sponsor the education of two girls from this village of Kirinda, at the Vocational Training Authority Colombo.

Qur’an School - Kirinda

The Charities Network ceremoniously inaugurated the ‘Darus Salam Hifl Qur’an School’ on Friday, 6th December 2024 in Kirinda, setting an incredible milestone of over 75 students registering for Quranic classes on the very first day.

The event was graced by members of the Charities Network, Kirinda Welfare Society, parents and well wishers from the Kirinda community.

Many of the students in the Muslim village of Kirinda hail from families who rely on fisheries as their primary source of income. Their routine for most of the children involves assisting their fathers with their boats and nets after comprehensive school with no provision for spiritual education. This Qur’an school provides a much needed solution to the Kirinda community in that respect.

Establishing a Hifl Qur’an School is among the most rewarding deeds in Islam. It not only safeguards the preservation of the Holy Qur’an, but also shapes a generation that is spiritually steadfast, disciplined, and morally exemplary.

Share your Wear

We found that many families were struggling to celebrate Eid and Sinhala & Tamil New Year with new clothes to wear, so we initiated “Share Your Wear” project.

Anyone who wished to gift new clothes to such families were invited to drop off their gifts which we in turn, identified deserving families to receive it. Tears of Joy from both, the donor and the recipient was a touching scene to see. May Allah bless the donors.
